One of the most popular Basavanna Vachana - has lot of depth and meaning. I have reproduced the same in English for the benefit of those who cannot read Kannada script here below and then also put the same in Kannada.
ullavaru shivalaya maaduvaru naanena maadali badavanayya,
enna kaale kamba dehave degula shirave honna kalashavayya
Koodala Sangama Deva kelayya sthavarakkalivuntu jangamakalivilla
enna kaale kamba dehave degula shirave honna kalashavayya
Koodala Sangama Deva kelayya sthavarakkalivuntu jangamakalivilla
It talks about greatness of a true believer in God. It says "People who are rich, have the ability to built temples or places of worship. I am a poor man, what can I do? My legs are the pillars, my body is the temple and my head the wonderful dome. O lord! things standing will fall some day, those moving will never!!"
This vachana has been beautifully sung by Nachiketa Sharma, in a melodious raag, in this YouTube video clip.
